NWI Graduate Certificate Program
The Nonwovens Institute (NWI) offers a Graduate Certificate in Nonwovens Science and Engineering through the Wilson College of Textiles. The program is available to students currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at NC State as well as non-degree seeking graduate level students. Any student seeking a certificate in Nonwovens Science and Technology must be a graduate of an accredited four-year college or university.
The goal of this certificate is to provide recognized academic credentials in Nonwoven Science and Technology.
The Graduate Certificate in Nonwovens Science and Technology requires a minimum of 15 credit hours (or 5 classes). These are:
NW 503 or TT 503 – Materials
NW 504 or TT 504 – Introduction to Nonwovens Products and Processes
NW 505 or TT 505 – Nonwoven Manufacturing Fundamentals
NW 507 or TT 507 – Nonwoven Characterization
NW 508 or TT 508 – Nonwoven Product Development
503, 504, 505, and 507 can also be taken through Textiles Online Programs (TOP). 508 has a hands-on component and is not currently offered online. Therefore, the certificate, today, is not offered as a distance education program for professionals.
